80 mph limited

Hi everyone,

Apologies if this has already been discussed—I searched but couldn’t find anything specific.

I recently purchased a BrightDrop 400 and spend quite a bit of time on the freeway. At 80 mph, I’m finding that I’m getting passed frequently and feel like I’m becoming more of a roadblock than I’d like.

Is there any way to increase the speed limiter on this vehicle? For comparison, my Sprinters are set at 91 mph.

Appreciate any insight—thanks in advance!

Not about where I'm from, in my ICE F150 Raptor I drive 90 MPH. But if you want to drive 90 MPH, a huge electric van is probably not for you. Your range at that speed would be like half that of going 65 MPH (I'm guessing 1kW per mile), and I couldn't imagine how loud it would be inside.

But that does bring up a question; is there any way to interface with the vehicle to change settings like tire size and speed limiters etc?

I have driven at 80 MPH maybe 1-2 hours total. @ 80 mph consumption is 69 kW. The fast recharge portion of the battery is 120kWh so you have only about 1 hr 44 min between charges. That's 115 miles. It also has a great deal of wind & road noise at high speed. I often drive sub 60 mph for comfort. @ 58 mph we can get right about 2 mi/kWh.

Thanks for the info! I’ll be using this as a service vehicle. So far, at speeds between 60–80 mph, the road noise is manageable—enough to comfortably use the phone via Bluetooth. I’m planning to add seals along the door recesses and above the doors. Standard 3" garage door sweep strips should do the trick and keep things looking clean.

Most of my calls are 20–30 minutes on the freeway, followed by a few minutes on secondary roads—typically 6–7 stops per day.

On a side note, is there any reason why there are no sun visors on the left or right sides? The one up front appears to be fixed in place.
